My students #1

E. She’s the typical well-dressed middle-aged lady working in an office. When we are talking about men, she always comments their looks. But I like her. She makes good jokes and she smiles all the time. We had one individual lesson together, because her colleagues didn’t come. I found out she loves to travel and goes on holiday three times a year. In winter, she goes to the mountains to ski and in summer she goes to the seaside. She prefers Greece, because it’s cheap and the weather is always good. She doesn’t have a house, because she spends money on her travels, which is, in my opinion, a wonderful way how to enjoy your life.

A. She studied Swedish and Finnish at the university, but now she wants to brush up her English. We had really interesting talk about Sweden, Swedish literature and languages in general.

T. She’s about 12 years old. She loves cats and books. Currently she’s reading The Chronicles of Narnia. When she told me about it, I realized she looks like Lucy from the movies. Every time she doesn’t know the answer and I tell her the right word in English, she says: “Jo, ano!”

A. He does cross fit like six days a week. Thursday is his rest day. (I have never heard about it before, but now I know.) He loves food and his favourite place he has ever been to is under the sea. (He likes watching fish.) Everybody in this group likes sci-fi, so we talk about it a lot, although we probably don’t use proper vocabulary.

M. He likes fishing and gardening. Sometimes I can’t tell if he’s joking or telling the truth. That’s the same with P. P. looks like he is about to start smiling all the time. I can’t keep straight face when I’m looking at him from time to time.

Z. She’s not my student. I met her during ‘travelling’ event at our language school. She said she was really scared with big nervous smile on her face. I told her not to worry and she did well. She has an unusual name, because her father is from Kazakhstan.

M. He’s maybe the nicest and most polite person from all the people I know. He’s always in good mood. He is a little bit ‘special’ or how to say it. Maybe like Sheldon or something like that. Not socially awkward, but weird in his own way. Everybody likes him, though. He always asks me about my weekend and mood. And he uses fancy English words all the time.

I like my students, I’m going to miss them one day.
